If you need help now
Use the appropriate emergency number above for urgent police, ambulance or fire assistance. Explain your location as clearly as you can; show a nearby person the Chinese place name if you need language help.
This website is not an emergency response service and does not monitor requests. Do not wait for a reply from us in an urgent situation.
If your passport is lost
UK travel advice recommends reporting the loss to the police and contacting your own embassy or consulate for document assistance. Use your nationality’s official consular website; requirements vary.
Our practical suggestion is to keep copies of the police report and relevant booking details together while you work through the replacement and departure arrangements. Protect passport copies from public sharing.
If your phone is missing
Ask your hotel or another trusted staffed location for help reaching your mobile provider, bank and a trusted contact. Use their official channels to report the loss and protect your accounts. A printed card can help you start that conversation.
Downloaded cards are files you control. If you add personal contacts or hotel details, share them only with people you intend to help you.
